MotoGP Misano: Ben Spies “For me it's like having achieved a podium!”

2012 certainly cannot be defined as a lucky season for Ben Spies. Between falls, breakages and various inconveniences, this is the first good race after eight weeks for the Texan from Yamaha. The result is not exceptional, he had to settle for fifth place, but it left him as happy as if he had reached the podium. He has the microphone.

“I know we didn't manage to get on the podium but I'm happy that we finally managed to have a normal race. For most of the time we weren't fast enough for the podium but in the end we managed to have a good pace. We had some problems with some things, especially with the feeling at the front. It was a difficult weekend and we didn't start the race with the perfect set up, but fortunately we managed to put together a good race. After everything that has happened to me in the last eight weeks it's almost like having made a podium for me!”
