MotoGP Misano: Dani Pedrosa “I'm very angry because I could have won”
The Spaniard is hit by Barberà and thus sinks -38 from Lorenzo
Dani Pedrosa he leaves Misano with a "zero" and a lot of bitterness. The Spaniard was knocked off Hector Barberà's Ducati during the first lap while he was engaged in a comeback from last position. In fact, Pedrosa had started from the back of the grid because his bike had a brake problem at the start and therefore the mechanics were forced to take his bike back out of the pit lane to fix it and this forced him to start from the back. The HRC rider got off to a flying start and was already in the top 10 at the first corner, but his chase was immediately interrupted due to the Pramac team rider. Now Dani sinks to -38 and with only 5 races to go, a miracle, or trouble for his opponent Lorenzo, is needed to reopen the world championship.
“It was total chaos and a lot of things happening at the same time. It all started with the restart procedure which was not clear at all. Nobody knew if it was one minute, three minutes, we even had conflicting information on the number of laps, 26, 27… Then, suddenly, they told us that there was one minute left until the start of the race, without any warning, nothing. The mechanics hurried and when they were about to remove the tyrewarmers the front wheel blocked. They tried to unblock it but they couldn't and they were out of time. I therefore started from last position trying to stay focused and without making mistakes; I made clean overtakes when Barberà hit me. I'm very angry because, even if it's easy to say now, I believe I could have had a chance to win this race, even starting from the last place on the starting grid. Now the championship is obviously more uphill for me, but I will continue in the same way. We've done everything we can up to now, the bike is fine and I'm riding well, even so it's not over for me. There are still 5 races to go and we will do our best.”

Believe it, believe it, believe it. Even if this is the case with Lorenzo, the world championship is not over.
Some may say that this way they are equal, but the fact that Dani was one of the few not to make a false start, and was penalized, confirms once again how unlucky this guy is. Dani don't give up, and let's hope that Casey comes back soon, even if I don't know how much he can help him and how much he can take points away from him..
I wanted to say even if with a Lorenzo like that, it's difficult.
Look, it's not a false start but problems with Karel Abhrams' bike. The problem that then arose was that the HRC engineers took Dani's bike off the grid and so he had to start at the back of the group.
yes, well, that's why they redid the starting procedure, technically it wasn't a false start, the fact is that quite a few got off to a flying start.
What a blow, from -13 potential -8 (in case of victory) or at worst 2nd -18 to find yourself at -38... in any case it only takes a moment to rebalance everything, let's hope he continues to be aggressive like in these last few races! It will be difficult also because when Casey comes back, imagine if he will let him pass mass style... too bad Dani, but we want to see you fight until the end! ;)
I'm really sorry for Pedrosa, bad luck is always upon him
…Pedro, don't worry…you'll make up for it next year, leaving Lorenzo and, above all, the paramedic behind…
Pedrosa is strong but will never be a title winner. Besides, he's also a loser...
Speaking of which, ask Hayden what it feels like to be knocked to the ground… (2006)
@dario. You are right…. but at least there's the excuse that he was a debutant.
