Valentino Rossi Statements British GP Silverstone Qualifying

“Today we worked well, since the morning. We were always in the Top Ten, around seventh/eighth position. I'm happy, we have good potential. I have a good feeling with the bike, there are some points on the track where I'm fast. I really like Silverstone, it's a pleasure to drive here. In qualifying there are no strategies, but following another driver (Bagnaia) helps. In FP4 I drove alone and I was fast. In Qatar I was fast on a single lap but not on pace, here I feel better, I have the most constant pace of the season."

Valentino Rossi statements importance of start and first lap British GP Silverstone Qualifying

“This year I've always struggled with the start, even more so from the Sachsenring, when we introduced the lowering system on the front too. Not only the start, but also on the first lap I suffer a lot. Now things seem to be better, we have done some tests and the results seem positive. In today's MotoGP the start and the first lap were very important."

Statements Valentino Rossi tire choice British GP Silverstone Qualifying

“Tomorrow the choice of tires will be fundamental. You will have to choose between medium and hard. I'm happy with the latter, but many are happy with the medium. A lot will depend on the track temperature.”

Statements Valentino Rossi best feeling of the season British GP Silverstone Qualifying

“The second part of the season started better than the first. At the beginning there were some circuits where I thought I would do well but instead we didn't succeed and we struggled. We worked and improved the bike and although we knew we would struggle in Austria, I had a good feeling. From here to the end we hope to go a little better, because these will be the races that I will remember, not the ones where I almost always won."
