MotoGP GP Malaysia Sepang Honda Repsol Day 1 – Jorge Lorenzo ended the first day of free practice at the Malaysian Grand Prix, the penultimate stage of the 2019 MotoGP, in seventeenth position in the combined time standings.

The Majorcan is also in deep crisis on the Sepang track. In the first session he recorded the eighteenth time, just under two and a half seconds from the top, while in the Malaysian afternoon, despite a small improvement, he finished far from the leaders, with a delay of two seconds and one. Obviously the comparison with Zarco, although not entirely correct given that the two use two different bikes, is unseemly. The Frenchman, in his second race aboard the Honda, finished ahead of the #99 in both rounds.

Statements Jorge Lorenzo Repsol Honda Team GP Malaysia Sepang Free Practice

“From Phillip Island to here, it's another world, it's almost the opposite. Here, there is a lot of grip and the track is quite flat in good weather, all this gave me a better feeling. Our pace isn't bad, we were 1,1 to 1,5 seconds behind. We tried something different to improve our rear grip, but we weren't able to make the most of it when we did the time attack so I think I could have dropped a few tenths and gotten closer to the fastest. For tomorrow the goal is to continue improving and set a 1'59”.
