Jorge Lorenzo: “In Assen my goal is to put pressure on Stoner”

Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies will try to put the last race at Silverstone behind them and their objective will be to obtain good results at Assen, a track favored by both. Lorenzo has won on the Dutch circuit in all three GP classes, teammate Spies took pole and a victory in 2009 in the Superbike World Championship and fourth place last year as a MotoGP rookie.

Jorge Lorenzo
“Assen is my favorite track where I won in all categories and also last season. This year it is very special to come here because it is celebrating the 50th anniversary! We are now in second place in the championship, we came here to try to put pressure on the leader. The team is focused and I would like to at least get back on the podium.”

Ben Spies
“I'm really looking forward to racing in Assen again. It's a track I love and the Yamaha M1 seems to work really well here. It's a fast track that I really like, I have so many memories of this race when I watched it on TV as a child, it's a privilege to race here. I'm still quite sore from the Silverstone accident, but I have no intention of giving up and I want to give 100% as always and try to achieve the best possible results. It's also a special event because we will go to the track with the special livery in front of all the fans."
