Dani Pedrosa: “I can't wait to get back on the bike”

The Repsol Honda Team will therefore most likely contest another grand prix without Dani Pedrosa, who is busy recovering from the latest surgery on his right collarbone last Thursday, carried out to fix a small fragment of bone that detached during rehabilitation. Dani, who will certainly return to Mugello on July 3rd, is improving day by day, but will hardly be able to get on track for the Dutch TT.

If, as seems most likely, Pedrosa will not race at Assen, his place in the Repsol Honda Team will be entrusted to Hiroshi Aoyama, rider of the San Carlo Honda Gresini team, while HRC test rider Kousuke Akiyoshi will take his place in the Gresini team. HRC would thus offer Aoyama the opportunity to race at Assen aboard the official RC212V and would like to thank Gresini Racing from now on for their collaboration.

Dani Pedrosa:
“It's been a few days since the operation and it's much better. I no longer feel the pain I had before the surgery and the recovery is going really well. I have already started rehabilitation and I am very happy because every day I notice improvements. I can't wait to get back on the bike, even if, honestly, it will be very difficult to make it to Assen, while I am convinced that I will be ready for Mugello. Now I'm focused on working and we'll see how it goes. I want to return as soon as possible, but I want to do the right thing."
