Good news for Italian SBK fans. In fact, today Formula Imola and Infront MotorSports have reached an agreement which provides for the extension of the relationship with the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari until 2014.

Among the new features is also the move of the date to April 1st, which will transform the Italian race into the second round of the season, the first in
Europe and the collective test session set for Monday again on the historic circuit.

The CEO and Director of the Autodromo Walter Sciacca announced the news: “The SBK World Championship is the most important motorcycle event on our calendar. The race has always been a great success, as demonstrated by the 78.000 spectators at the last edition. We are happy that fans will be able to enjoy this splendid show for the next three years. The change of date takes us back to the legendary times of the 200 Miglia, when unforgettable races were held in this period. We hope that there will be even more enthusiasts present, "hungry" for motorcycling after the winter break. Until 2014 we will therefore have, in addition to the SBK, the CIV, the Italian Cup and probably an endurance race, which as I have always said was one of my main objectives, as well as free practice and other important motorcycle events. This result allows me to say that the objective has been achieved."

A comment also came from Paolo Flammini of Infront MotorSports, “The agreement represents an important result for the SBK World Championship. The Imola round is in fact one of the most significant events on the calendar and the date has been moved
so that the race becomes the first European test, after the opening at Phillip Island. We hope that the public of enthusiasts will continue to be present in large numbers on a circuit that has seen legendary races take place in the past, in April."
