The report cards of the British GP….

Red: by now he has almost accustomed us to departures that are certainly not exceptional,
but which are counterbalanced by great recoveries in the first 2 laps. Turn in
1.31.0 with 5 overtakings included is an indication of a crystalline class. Sin
because he definitely didn't see the yellow flag and, for what
matters, he is the moral winner. Vote 10!

biaggi: that was thought to be a mistake due to Rossi's pressure
which made him lose the lead of the race as well as 2.1 seconds in that
tour. Instead it seems the neutral has entered. Max lapped the entire race
on Rossi's times and this victory relaunches him in terms of the championship. Vote
9.5!

Gibernau: in the dry it cannot keep up with the first ones
two and it shows. If he wants to fight for the world championship he can't hope for rain
forever or other fortunate events such as Rossi's disqualification. A podium anyway
allows him to maintain second position in the standings. Vote 8!

Capirossi: Ducati wasn't comfortable on this track and it was known
and arrive first behind the RC211Vs which are notoriously bigger bikes
neutral. His race was excellent. Vote 8!

Bayliss: we expected him to be back in shape and so it was.
A fifth place and decidedly interesting race times with a difficult bike
to be treated. Rating 7.5!

Check out : survivor of the Yamaha riders (Barros knocked out in the warm-up, Melandri
and Jacque fallen, Nakano somewhat behind) fights to maintain his position
from Haga's attacks.
Sixth position isn't bad, but it's definitely expected of him and the M1
more (given the experience they have) than fighting with pilots
and debut motorcycles. Vote 6!

Haga: an assault race after starting behind on the grid. Seventh
honorable position for him and for Aprilia, with the satisfaction of fighting
with Yamaha and, almost, with Ducati. It's nice to see the aggressive Japanese again
and to the finish line without falls. Vote 7!

Edwards: He's not comfortable and it shows. He progressively loses positions
and finishes only tenth. We expected a little more from him
that he knew the track (there aren't many GPs where you can enjoy
this advantage). Rating 5.5!

Melandri: third time in qualifying and a good pace which led to his crash
allowed us to stay with the leaders. Really a shame for Marco that finally
he seemed to be able to govern the difficult M1. Vote NC!

Grandson: the impression he gave in qualifying was one of confidence,
as well as the choice of a hard rear. Well done in the beginning
not to give up too much ground to others and to launch the attack when his
tires they had more. One more opponent for Poggiali, e
convincing. Vote 10!

Put them on: setting problems, mainly due to falls in the
tests, did not allow him to express himself at his best. A good second place
from a championship perspective. Vote 9!

West: revelation! after the victory in Assen (due to which he
received some updates for his bike from Aprilia), the Australian
it proves tough and consistent even in the dry. He starts back but completes
a great comeback crowned by a nice podium. Vote 9!

Elias: Throw away the chance to fight for victory with a
reckless overtaking. He loses the challenge with West for the podium and comes out on top by a margin
thousandth on Rolfo. Too little if he wants to single out Poggiali and Nieto for the title.
Vote 6.5!

Rolf: he is always the most "hung" of the group
head, but with that Honda it's only thanks to him that he's there.
It's a shame for that thousandth which takes away a fourth place that would have been
very deserved. Vote 8!

Battaini: a somewhat opaque seventh place and too distant from the leaders.
He has the capabilities to do much better, as he already has to a large extent
established. Vote 6!

De Puniet: the Frenchman is fast but too inconsistent and
he makes too many mistakes. This way she will be able to do some good things
podiums but nothing more. Much more consistency is needed for the championship. Vote
5!

Barbera: the Spaniard was very good, always in the lead
(or almost) consistently ran on interesting tempos. Beautiful victory
for him who is very young. Vote 10!

Dovizioso: as young as he is talented. Too bad for this victory
which has not yet arrived despite its class, but has all the
time to make up for it. Very good and very clear even in brawls. Rating 9.5!

Perugians: some dubbing problems and an unfortunate last lap
they take away the possibility of playing for the top step of the
podium, but tenacity rewards him. Innocent in the contact that put him out of the race
Pedrosa. Rating 8.5!

De Angelis: a good recovery but someone like him can and must fight
for the podium. A good fourth place, but nothing more. Rating 6.5!

Cecchinello: he is perhaps the fastest of the lot, but he commits
too many errors! Today's one is very expensive as a victory for him
would have made up for all the disadvantage he had against Pedrosa,
instead he only finished tenth and recovered little. Rating 5!
