Here are the comments of Max Biaggi and Valentino Rossi after the news of the penalty for the Pesaro rider.

Max Biaggi:
“I'm on Valentino's side, I know what it means to be penalized in this way.
I am satisfied with my performance and I don't feel rewarded at all for what happened in '98.
Then I lost the title due to a yellow flag, I was leading the world championship with just a few races to go.”

Valentino Rossi:
“The thing that hurts me the most is that no one made an official complaint, they used a TV for this and it's not good.
I couldn't see the yellow flags, I was overtaking Capirossi.
Without the overtaking on Capirossi I would have won anyway, I didn't get any benefit from it.
I still remain the winner, I repeat that I had no advantage."
