Carlos Checa (Ducati Althea Racing), who set the best time on the first day of testing, left, and collective testing continued which saw the fastest time set by Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia). The reigning world champion set a time of 1'58"7, four tenths from that set by the Spaniard.
Behind him we find a quartet of riders who achieved the same time with 1'59"2: Michel Fabrizio, very positive with the Suzuki Alstare, Troy Corser, who rode with the BMWs in both versions, Noriyuki Haga (Aprilia Pata Racing ), author of a slight crash, and Tom Sykes (Kawasaki), the real surprise of these tests.
