Superbike, Pirelli Riviera di Rimini Round. It was certainly not the day that Lorenzo Savadori hoped to experience in front of his home crowd, in his debut year in WorldSbk: in Race 1, for the eighth round of the season scheduled at the Misano World Circuit, Marco Simoncelli went out of blameless scene after a few meters, following a not exactly clean overtaking immediately by Xavi Fores.

Davies and Camier were also involved in the accident, who were forced to go off the track to avoid falling too: fortunately for Savadori there were no physical consequences, as he slipped dangerously into the middle of the group.

A real shame for him because the conditions for doing well were all there: in Tissot-Superpole he managed to access the second heat, together with Camier, with the best time and at the end of the SP2 he had achieved fifth place on the starting grid .
Now Savadori hopes to be able to erase today's bad run in Race 2, hoping that the race will be in the dry.

““My race ended too early, at the second corner. In my opinion Fores made an impossible overtaking and the facts prove it, given that he had to straighten out while he hit me, while two other drivers, Davies and Camier, had to go wide to avoid him” – he said Lorenzo Savadori – “Unfortunately it went like this, but it all seemed very excessive to me, fortunately I didn't hurt myself since I fell into the middle of the group. It's a shame because we certainly could have had a good race, even considering the times of the top five. It's hard to think with ifs and buts but we could have had fun, unfortunately it ended like this. Let's hope the weather holds up tomorrow because I'd like to finish the work I started in the dry."
