Superbike, Pirelli Riviera di Rimini Round, Race 1. The start of the first race of the eighth event of the season was unlucky for many of the possible protagonists on the track: after a few meters in fact there was a contact with protagonists Xavi Fores and Lorenzo Savadori which also involved Chaz Davies and Leon Camier.

The Italian driver of the Iodaracing team in fact fell following a rather risky overtaking attempted by Fores: the Spanish rider's maneuver triggered a chain reaction which forced Chaz Davies and Leon Camier to take the escape route and return to track at the back of the grid.
Both drivers made two good comebacks to recover lost ground: Davies finished in fourth position, while Camier managed to cross the finish line in eighth, gaining important points.

“It was a difficult start. I think I hit Savadori with my boot when we were in the gravel, because my boot was really damaged and this created various problems for me during the race" – he commented Leon Camier – “Then I had to push as hard as I could, trying to overtake as many riders as possible and I made a good comeback, I had a good pace. I think we can do something good tomorrow."

The English driver obviously hopes to have better luck today, in Race 2, given that the result of the first one is influenced by episodes that did not depend on him.
