Superbike Misano, Free Practice: Good sensations for Niccolò Canepa

Superbike, Pirelli Riviera di Rimini Round. Niccolò Canepa this weekend in Misano, scene of the eighth round of the season, replaces Sylvain Guintoli in the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team, still dealing with the after-effects of the crash in Imola.

The Italian driver, who also took part in the test day organized last week on the Misano track, concluded the two free practice sessions with the fourteenth time, and tomorrow he will start from the SP1 in qualifying, but will still have a third free session available to increase his feeling with the YZF-R1.

“The first day went quite well: in the initial session we faced some electronics problems, so I wasn't able to lap much” – he explained Niccolò Canepa -“I would have needed to do a few kilometres. In the second session, however, I was able to ride more and I concentrated on the set up to tailor the bike to myself, as I like to do. It takes a little time, but the sensations are good. I'm a second from the leader, we're all very close and it will be important to find a good pace for the race. Tomorrow morning I will work on the bike's setting and also on the electronics of which today Alex Lowes tested a new system that works better. I'll try it too, it should give me a good hand. I'll give it my all to get into Superpole 2, it would be important to then start from a good position on the starting grid, given that I'm improving in each session."
