Superbike, Pirelli German Round, Tissot-Superpole. The Lausitzring this morning presented a wet track to the drivers involved in the third free practice session, slightly messing up the work done by the teams yesterday on the dry: Fortunately the asphalt dried out a bit over the hours

After the best time set in FP3 by Jonathan Rea, with a wet set-up, the reigning World Champion took to the track again for the first qualifying session, given the eleventh place achieved at the end of the combined times of the two qualifications, together with Davide Giugliano.
The Roman Ducati rider manages to enter the second heat with the best time, a 1'46.224, two and a half seconds faster than Jonathan Rea.

Tissot-Superpole 2 begins with uncertainty given the asphalt conditions: in the first phase of the session the riders alternated at the top of the standings, with Lorenzo Savadori setting an excellent time, aiming for a place in the front rows .
Six minutes from the end, Chaz Davies takes the lead and wins an amazing Tissot-Superpole, stopping the clocks at 1'37.889: the Welsh Ducati rider was the author of an amazing first run and is a candidate for a leading role in Race 1, which will begin at 13pm.
With him on the front row, Tom Sykes will start, who as usual also places a good time, arriving just a tenth behind Davies, and Nicky Hayden, author of an excellent performance, with which he managed to take advantage of the great work of his men who they managed to repair the bike, damaged after the third free practice session, in record time.

Fourth row for Lorenzo Savadori, a little disappointed given that a few seconds from the end he seemed solidly in third position, but still confident for the race on a track where he is proving to be strong in the dry, with the best time at the end of free practice yesterday, and in the wet/humid.
Jordi Torres, in great form this weekend, will start in fifth position, immediately ahead of Jonathan Rea, who pays a second and a half from teammate Sykes.
Third row for Leon Camier, who despite being one of the few top drivers not to have tested on this track is behaving very well so far, Davide Giugliano and Sylvain Guintoli.
The performance of the Ducati rider is surprising on the negative side, and even more surprising is the different version that he and his men give of the set-up chosen for the Panigale 1199 r: Giugliano immediately declares that the choice to propose a wet configuration also in the SP2s is turned out to be incorrect, while the team claims that its set-up was 95% dry.
Not a very serene climate which certainly doesn't help anyone, driver or team, also considering that Giugliano is perhaps paying for a lack of tranquility due to a still uncertain future.

Completing the front rows of the grid are Michael Van der Mark, Markus Reiterberger and Alex Lowes, who did not ride due to a problem on his Yamaha.

In these qualifying sessions we didn't see a bike going significantly faster than the others: looking at the ranking of the topics we see how the real difference was made by the riders, with their team mates separated by gaps ranging from a second and a half to Giugliano -Davies, Rea-Sykes two and a half seconds behind Torres-Reiterberg, although in this case the German's less than perfect physical condition may have had an impact.
