Superbike, Pirelli German Round, Race 1. A Chaz Davies in amazing form after this morning's Tissot-Superpole, also wins Race 1 at the EuroSpeedWay Lausitzring, thanks to a show of strength and authority, which left no room for his opponents.

The Welsh Ducati rider, who started first from the start, maintained his leading position throughout the race, always setting times of 1'37, which never allowed his pursuers to get close.
With a solitary leader the emotions were all behind him, with Rea, Sykes, Savadori and Hayden battling for the podium, with the Italian rider from the Iodaracing team unleashed in pursuit of the Kawasaki duo, in which the one in most difficulty seemed be Sykes.

With 14 laps to go, something you don't expect happens: Jonathan Rea prepares to tackle turn 8, he engages the gear that won't go in and his Ninja literally throws him to the ground.
More problems with the gearbox, like in Race 2 at Laguna Seca, and another zero in the standings which this time weighs like a boulder and forcefully reopens the championship, not only for Tom Sykes who with today's second place almost halves the gap at 26 points, but also for Davies who can now dream of recovering 83 points with 175 available.

Eighth laps were also fatal for Lorenzo Savadori who crashed when he was third, ruining a podium that could have been within his reach, and Markus Reiterberger who raised his hand to signal the bike had to be switched off: a lot of bad luck for him in front of his home crowd.

Great performance, however, for Nicky Hayden who finished third, putting some pressure on Sykes at the end, crossing the finish line less than a second behind the Kawasaki rider.
Hayden also had to watch his back from Jordi Torres and Leon Camier, who behind him entertained the public with a great battle with fast laps: the MV Agusta driver's race was really good and despite not having tested here during the summer he demonstrated that he has great riding sensitivity and knows how to exploit the characteristics of his bike in the best possible way.

Sixth place for Michael Van der Mark, followed by Davide Giugliano: both decidedly overshadowed today compared to their respective teammates.
In eighth and ninth position we find the Pata Crescent Yamaha duo formed by Alex Lowes and Sylvain Guintoli, both in less than perfect physical condition: the English rider went to the mobile clinic this morning due to some muscle fatigue due to 6 races in a row contested by Worldsbk and MotoGP, where he replaced Smith in the Monster Yamaha Tech3 Team, while the Frenchman is still suffering from the after-effects of the long stop due to a broken ankle.
Top ten finally completed by Xavi Fores, also fresh from the San Marino MotoGP race where he replaced Loris Baz in the Avintia team.

Of note are the twelfth place of Alex De Angelis and the fifteenth of Luca Scassa who races for the VRT Racing team in place of the injured Fabio Menghi.

See you tomorrow, 13pm, with Race 00.
