Superbike, Pirelli German Round, Race 1. At the EuroSpeedway Lausitz, BMW's home circuit, the drivers of the Althea Racing team had mixed fortunes during the first heat of the race: Jordi Torres crossed the finish line in an excellent fourth position, while Markus Reiterberger was unfortunately stopped from a technical problem.

The day for the young German driver, idol of the public present, was not the luckiest: despite a highside in the wet in FP3, which exacerbated some pain, he regularly took part in the Tissot-Superpole 2 together with his teammate of the Torres team.
On an almost dry track, both drivers went out with slick tires to test their grip, then fitted with qualifying ones, Torres set the fifth fastest time with a 1.39'220, while Reiterberger closed with a 1'41.583, which it earned eleventh position on the starting grid.

In Race 1 Torres lost something at the start, finding himself seventh in the first phase of the race, but after a few laps he managed to overtake Giugliano, before recovering another two positions to move into fourth on lap seven.
The Spaniard tried to close the gap on Hayden, immediately in front of him, also watching out for Leon Camier: Torres managed his race very well, crossing the finish line in fourth place and thus equaling his best result of the season.
Reiterberger, however, unfortunately became the victim of a technical problem, which forced him to return to the garage, ending his race early, just on the ninth lap.

“We came very close to the podium, so it's a good result. It was important to do well this weekend, being at BMW here at Lausitz, and I'm happy with the pace we had in the race. Having said that, I lacked a bit of confidence at the start and I would like to do differently tomorrow, to be more competitive” – he said Jordi Torres – “I understood that I have to be more aggressive at the start of the race, so I will try to adopt this approach. Maybe we'll also make some small changes to the bike, to give me a little more for race 2.”

Today didn't go well for me. We weren't lucky. In FP3 it was wet and I did a highside, falling to the ground on my back, just like in Misano. After that fall I had a lot of pain, both in my lower back and in my neck and therefore I was more cautious in Superpole, and this led to my eleventh place” – he said Markus Reiterberger – “I didn't have a bad start in the race, but I was obviously too far from the leaders. I had a good pace and I thought I could get maybe up to seventh place, but unfortunately a technical problem stopped me and I couldn't get back on track. I am very sorry."
