Superbike, Pirelli German Round – Free Practice 2. The first day of free practice at the EuroSpeedWay Lausitzring circuit, valid for direct access to the Tissot-Superpole scheduled for tomorrow, ends with Lorenzo Savadori setting the best time.

Behind him is Markus Reiterberger who is in full form despite the three months of absence from competitions, who has fired up the crowd, and Tom Sykes who is already starting to set fast laps as usual.

The particular layout of the circuit is proving to be a real challenge for the drivers, especially for turns 6 and 12: the session was in fact interrupted 21 minutes from the end by the red flags displayed due to the debris left on the track by Josh Brookes's BMW, which crashed at high speed at turn 12.
Luckily no consequences for the Australian.

Fourth time for Chaz Davies ahead of Nicky Hayden and Sylvain Guintoli, sixth and satisfied with the result considering the 4 months absence from competition due to the ankle injury.
Jordi Torres and Alex Lowes also entered directly into Tissot-Superpole 2, despite a fall near turn 6 halfway through the session.
Completing the top ten are Leon Camier, who is one of the few drivers who did not test here at the Lausitzring during the summer, and Van der Mark.
Surprisingly, Jonathan Rea remains out of the second qualifying heat: the reigning World Champion will have to conquer the front rows of the grid starting from the SP2, together with Davide Giugliano, twelfth.

The next appointments are for tomorrow morning at 8am with the third free practice session, followed by the Tissot-Superpole starting at 45am.
Then all eyes will be on the start of Race 1 at 13pm.
