MotoGP Sachsenring: Marquez, pole with record, Pedrosa and Lorenzo on the front row, Rossi is sixth

MotoGP 2015 German GP QP – Marc Marquez took pole position in the German Grand Prix in the MotoGP class, the fourth of the season, the twenty-sixth in the Top Class.

The reigning Honda champion also beat the track record that already belonged to him. He lapped in 1:20.336, putting his Honda ahead of that of team-mate Dani Pedrosa, 0.292 behind. Jorge Lorenzo will start in the front row with them, riding the Yamaha M1 and lapping in 1:20.921.

Andrea Iannone will open the second row. The Ducati rider, on the track with new aerodynamic solutions on his Desmosedici GP15, set the fourth fastest time, ahead of the excellent Yonny Hernandez, who therefore brings the Ducati GP14.2 close to the top of the class. The Colombian rider suffers a gap from the top of 0.779s to less than a tenth from Iannone.

Valentino Rossi will also start from the second row, who achieved the sixth best time. The nine-time world champion was unable to repeat his pole position in Assen and tomorrow he will be called upon to make a great start in order not to lose contact with the Hondas. His gap to Marquez is 0.884s.

Third row for the Espargarò brothers, with Aleix (Suzuki) ahead of Pol (Yamaha) and for the British Bradley Smith, riding the second Yamaha of Team Tech 3.

Difficult qualifying for Andrea Dovizioso, who since yesterday has not felt comfortable on this circuit with the new Desmosedici GP15. In fact, he will start from the fourth row, eleventh fastest, caught in the grip of the Honda of Cal Crutchlow (Honda) and Maverick Vinales (Suzuki).
