MotoGP | Sepang Test Day 2: Marquez, “The bike definitely has potential”

IRTA Test Sepang Honda Repsol Team 2022 – Marc Marquez closed the second day of official testing on the Sepang circuit with the eighth fastest time.

The Spaniard finished with a 1'58.332 on the seventh lap out of 49, just 0.201 seconds behind Enea Bastianini, the fastest of the day. Despite not being able to do a planned long run due to the weather, Marquez and his team were able to continue to explore the new Honda RC213V and gain important knowledge. The next Mandalika test will allow Marquez to further unlock the potential of the package that Honda HRC has prepared over the winter.

“I'm happy with these two days in Sepang, but also tired! It's true that it's very positive for us to be here even if I suffered a bit physically, but now we suffer to enjoy the season. When I push the bike, the speed is there and we are learning a lot about this bike after trying some important things. The bike certainly has potential and today we understood the feeling with the front better after some changes made. Pol and Alex were fast in the long run, which is encouraging. I did a few laps in the wet and I also felt good."
