MotoGP – Sepang Test Day 1 – Andrea Dovizioso: “Honda did an excellent job”

Andrea Dovizioso is really satisfied with the work done by the Honda engineers. The Repsol Honda Team native from Forlì was able to see first-hand in Sepang the progress made on engine braking which was the Achilles' heel of the RC212V last year. Even though he wasn't looking for lap times, he still set a good pace. The word is up to him.

“I'm really happy with how we started this second test. The Honda engineers did a great job on the engine braking with the electronic system to improve the feeling on the rear and this is really good, because I have to say that was our main problem last year and today we made a big step forward. We have reduced the chatter compared to the first test and the stability of the rear, so I am very satisfied. We were able to be fast from the start even though we weren't chasing the time, we tried three different compounds and had a good pace.”
