The Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit (next stage of the 2014 world championship) was designed with "users in mind". Their safety was in fact calculated with a software system designed by Jarno Zaffelli, adopted de facto by the FIM (and approved by the FIA through the approvals received) and certified by Dekra.

For the first time the curves have been evaluated and designed to avoid too pronounced cooling on one side, and it is the first time that there are 4 unprecedented curves in the world panorama, which induce perceptive errors and multiple trajectories without needing to resort to the ”.

It was officially inaugurated in May 2008 with a race of the Argentine Touring Car Championship. In 2012 it underwent a series of reconstruction, renovation and extension works with the intention of making it the most modern, safe and spectacular circuit in Latin America. Its length is 4.806 metres, contains a total of 14 corners, five of which are left-handed and nine right-handed, and the main straight measures just over a kilometre.

I'm really curious to see what will happen on this circuit.

According to what the designer said, he tried to "deceive" the pilots by inserting "perceptive" traps, i.e. passages in which the errors of perception are intentional and it really seems to be a track that is difficult to interpret.
As a test, he asked 3 drivers to trace, by walking, the ideal line connecting turns 9, 10 and 11.
Each driver gave their own interpretation of the track, choosing their own personal trajectories, but when they reached the last of the 3 corners in question, number 11, they all realized that they had taken the wrong trajectory from the first corner.

I hope it gives us fun and, above all, I hope that the tires can hold on until the end of the race.

So at first glance, it seems to be really beautiful, with variations in altitude, a counter-slope curve and, if I noticed correctly, the longest straight (which is not the starting one), is uphill.
In addition to the novelty of the circuit, there are also the "perceptive traps" to consider, the shape of 4 curves, different from those present on the other circuits of the world championship, counter-slope curves and a long straight which, from what can be read in the drawing, it could lead pilots to reach 340 km/h.
All this seasoned with uncertainty about the tires which will not be dual-compound like those used in the previous circuit.

Good luck to all the pilots.
