Cal Crutchlow will not be present in Argentina. The British Ducati rider has not in fact recovered from the injury suffered in Austin, which turned out to be more "important" than expected. He was initially diagnosed with a severe bruise on his right hand with subluxation of the little finger, but further checks at a specialized center in San Diego (USA) revealed that the English rider had also suffered a microfracture of the finger and therefore it was decided to undergo to surgery to insert a stabilizing screw. Here are the words of the #35 of the Borgo Panigale team.

“I'm really sorry, because I really wanted to race in Argentina. Last Tuesday they took an x-ray of my hand and saw that my right little finger was still dislocated and that there was also a small fracture, and so Doctor Chao decided to insert a screw to stabilize it. Unfortunately I still feel too much pain in my right hand: the knuckles are the part that hurts the most and I'm not in a condition to be able to race this weekend. I am now returning home to England to continue my rehabilitation and will do everything I can to recover for the Jerez GP.”

Tester Michele Pirro will race in his place, and will also be present in Jerez regardless of the recovery of the former Yamaha rider.
