MotoGP Sachsenring: Hernandez excellent 9th time, Petrucci slower to finish 15th

Bittersweet start for the Pramac team at the Sachsenring, with Hernandez who closed the first day with an excellent 9th time, while for now he remains behind Petrucci with the 15th time. The rider from Medellin immediately started very fast, even 5th at the end of the morning shift, while the 15th time does not do justice to Petrux who, having also started strongly in the morning, was slowed down in the afternoon by a defective tire in the afternoon.

“I'm very satisfied, this is a nice way to start the weekend – Yonny Hernandez said – But we still have a lot to do. Tomorrow we will have to work hard to be able to improve further and stay in Q2. However, I hope to be able to continue on this path which is the right one to obtain a good result. Where can I do better? Definitely in T3. It's the fastest part of the circuit, the one that can allow me to improve my lap time a lot. We will try to work on the set up to be able to take a step forward in this direction"

“It was a two-sided day but I want to consider the glass half full – added Danilo Petrucci – I went very well during the morning tests when I was always at the front until the others put on the soft tyres. In the afternoon we also put them on but evidently they didn't perform at their best since I wasn't able to make an important step. I'm in a bit of difficulty because I lack a bit of grip but we still have one day to work on this. The pace is good, like a Top 10. Tomorrow we hope to be able to make the most of the time attack to enter directly into Q2."
