MotoGP – Preview Jerez – Stoner: "Good in the winter tests, we'll go fast"

Victory with surprising ease at Losail, ready to reconfirm himself at Jerez de la Frontera, a track historically favorable to Michelin tyres. Casey Stoner doesn't think about it and will show up at the second round of the season full and motivated as always, looking for a new victory (it would be the 12th in MotoGP) capable of dazzling the hopes of his opponents. On a track where Ducati won in 2006 with Loris Capirossi, the World Champion is convinced, as he should be, that he is aiming for success: after all, here in the winter tests he went very fast, both in the rain and in the best conditions climatic events, where he highlighted chronometric references on the race pace that were unapproachable for anyone.

“It can be said that Jerez last year was not one of our best races, but the winter tests went well and with the improvements we have made in general compared to last season I think that next weekend we could be better competitive", says Casey Stoner. “It's true that the Jerez track hasn't favored us at times but, ultimately, we've always achieved decent results. We also worked well with the Bridgestone engineers, trying many types of tyres, so we should be able to find a good solution for the race. There are several drivers who are going strong at the moment, including the rookies, so between those who want to repeat themselves and those who race at home, they will all be ultra-motivated. We just have to try to do our job well and then try to get the best result possible.".

Casey Stoner finished fifth last year and sixth in 2006, making his debut in MotoGP with the Honda RC211V of Lucio Cecchinello's team.
