MotoGP – Night race also in Australia?

The news is reported by Visordown.com, and it is a new chapter in the saga of possible night Grands Prix in the short-medium term future of the MotoGP. Said of Sepang, Losail confirmed until 2016, in the next 3/4 years Australia could also offer a "by night" scenario for the MotoGP. In fact, a 4.1 mile (over 6 kilometre) track is under construction on the Gold Coast for international two- and four-wheel competitions, with all the best for the spectators on the track and in front of the television screens. Of the 300 million (Australian) dollars invested, a large part was allocated to the construction of garages and grandstands, a museum dedicated to the history of motorsport and, obviously, the best possible lighting system to illuminate any night races.

Michael Doohan, five-time 500cc champion, also collaborated in the project and will make the announcement himself tomorrow with a formal press conference. “The guys did a great job”, Mick said. “It will certainly be one of the most beautiful tracks in the world. Hosting MotoGP? It's a dream, we think about it, but we'll take it one step at a time".

The construction should be completed in 2011, with Phillip Island expiring its contract with Dorna...
