MotoGP – Nicky Hayden: “My results convinced Rossi to come to Ducati”

Nicky Hayden will team up with Valentino Rossi in the Ducati MotoGP Team in 2011. The two had already been teammates in 2003 at the time of Honda and in 2006 Hayden had won the title at the last race over Valentino who crashed in Valencia, throwing away his points lead. The American is convinced that his performances and results have convinced Rossi to accept Ducati. In fact, until recently the only one who was going fast with the Borgo Panigale team was Stoner, while this year Hayden has also shown that he can go fast (even if he didn't achieve the results of the Australian).

“I think my results made the decision to accept the Ducati easier – Hayden told MCN – Rossi saw that the bike has improved and gone strong with more riders. I was up front and the guys from the satellite team also improved. I have no doubt that Rossi can win on this bike and I think that his arrival will be good for MotoGP and also for Ducati which will be able to count on his experience."
