MotoGP – Misano – Dani Pedrosa: "The podium is a good result"

Dani Pedrosa finished the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini GP in third position. The Spanish centaur, fresh from his contract renewal with Honda, started in the lead trying to stay there as much as possible. Once passed by Rossi first and then Lorenzo he had to "settle" for third place, a position that he now also occupies in the championship. The word is up to him

“A podium is a good result for us and I think our potential is respected this weekend. I made a good start and pushed hard in the first laps trying to keep up with the others. I was riding really fast and going faster every lap allowed me to keep the lead for quite a long time. Valentino (Rossi, ed.) first and then Jorge (Lorenzo, ed.) passed me, however, and were able to break away from me. I was actually very lucky in the end because I ran out of fuel on the slowdown lap and found a ride back to the pits with Toni Elias.

Third is OK here and there was no way to do more. I was able to follow the leader's pace, so I'm quite satisfied. Now I'm third in the championship, but with Casey (Stoner, ed.) not racing here either. This weekend I also re-signed with Honda and I'm very happy with that. They know my potential very well and I know their potential and I'm sure we can work well together in the future.”
