MotoGP Misano: Alvaro Bautista “I wanted to give my team this result, in this truly special weekend”

Alvaro Bautista he finished 3rd in Misano and found his first podium in MotoGP, a category in which he has been racing for three years now. This result has a truly special flavor, because seeing a Gresini team rider on the podium at Misano, on the circuit named after Sic, really has a great effect. After a good start, the Spaniard caught up with Bradl and Rossi halfway through the race and then overtook the German and remained calm in third position until Dovizioso arrived with 2 laps to go. The two fought great until the finish line, arriving at the checkered flag tied and only the photo finish gave the podium to "BatiGas".

“It was a special weekend for the team – Bautista said to Sportmediaset – and we wanted to have a good race. At the beginning I was even about to fall but fortunately I saved myself with my elbow and then I started chasing the podium group. In the end I fought with Dovi, I closed all the doors, he passed me at the last corner but he went a bit long and I overtook him. In recent races I have had suspension problems also because, as you know, my bike does not receive the updates that other Hondas have. However, on the track I always give my best, even if I'm always at the limit. I hope to continue like this. What if I stay next year too? I don't know, ask Fausto (and laughs ed.)"
