MotoGP – Losail QP1 – Toni Elias: "We don't like being in this position"

Toni Elias is not at all satisfied with the twelfth time achieved in the Losail qualifying, the opening race of the 2009 MotoGP world championship. The Spanish rider from Team Gresini who races with a spec RC212V. Factory obviously expected more but at the moment this is the ranking and in the race he will try to improve his performance. Compared to Friday he still took a second off his race pace and this gives him hope even if the work on the electronics didn't produce the desired results. He has the microphone.

“We don't like being in this position on the grid but this is the ranking and we have to accept it; you need to continue working without panicking. The positive thing is that we took a second off the pace we had yesterday thanks to some adjustments in the chassis, while the work on the electronics has not yet yielded the results we expected. I'm not sure we'll be able to resolve everything in time for tomorrow's race but, as I was saying, we have to be patient. It's tough to be in this position: we start twelfth and to be honest the ranking reflects our current condition. However, I want to do everything to get off to a good start and fight as hard as I can."
