MotoGP Laguna Seca: Marc Marquez “I'm happy with this first day”
Immediately best performance for the Spaniard from Honda, who was running at the Mazda Raceway for the first time
Marc Marquez achieved the best time on the first day of free practice for the Red Bull US Grand Prix, ninth stage of the 2013 world championship. The world championship leader immediately adapted to the technical and treacherous US circuit and after an initial study session, he passed on the attack in FP2, managing to have fun. Tomorrow he will try to continue on this path, the word is up to him.
“In the first free practice session the most important thing was to stay calm and that's what we did. Furthermore, the track conditions and the fog made things difficult. During the first minutes I was a bit "stressed" on the bike, because I had so much to do. It's a new track for me, but it's fun. It's very narrow and short with a lot of bumps so it took some adjustment on my part. In the second session I felt much better, I started to have fun and I found a rhythm that wasn't bad at all. We went faster, but the time is still far from the track record. I'm happy with this first day, tomorrow we'll see if we can continue on this path and continue learning the circuit.”
