Jorge Lorenzo he closed the first day of free practice at Laguna Seca with the 6th fastest time, just 4 tenths behind Marc Marquez. Considering the physical condition of the reigning world champion and the sensational time of the Honda rookie, it is clear how strong the Majorcan was. Lorenzo took to the track only halfway through the morning session and improved lap after lap, recording his best lap in the final seconds of the afternoon session and finishing just a tenth behind his team-mate Rossi. Lorenzo then stated that he ran without taking painkillers, so tomorrow with the help of the drugs he will be able to improve further.
Hats off to this man who never gives up.

“In the afternoon things went much better – said Jorge Lorenzo – I tried to improve myself step by step as if it were my first day on a MotoGP here, to minimize the risks and understand the limits of the track. Every lap my time got better and better but obviously the pain is always there. This afternoon was better than in the morning but not much, after 7 laps I started to have pain in my arms. I struggled quite a bit but in the end today I rode without taking any painkillers and this is very positive, because it means that when I take them I will be able to go even faster. The bike goes really well, I lost a few tenths in a couple of points where I can't push hard. However, the balance of this first day is positive, considering my physical condition."

…have you noticed that everyone is happy? Never any problems...how hypocritical...I regret the 80s, when Freddie tested the NR with oval pistons and, after having blended the engine, he said: "great bike, but I don't ride it in races"...or when Yamaha forced Lawson to run the 8 Hours of Suzuka and he said: 'if I have to run about 8 races, pay me 8 times as much... and he won too'... now someone runs a little bruised and is a hero... but let's get it over with!

see…and I regret Rossi last year who said: “I don't race to fight for sixth place”…what a man from another era! what a character! nothing other than the hypocrisy of these modern pilots who race with titanium plates in their bodies due to contractual obligations.
