MotoGP Thailand Aprilia – Maverick Vinales finished the Sprint Race of the Thai Grand Prix, the seventeenth stage of the 2023 Motorcycle World Championship, in 18th position.

Not a happy Saturday for Maverick, who has been the protagonist in Buriram to date. Both in qualifying and in the Sprint the Aprilia rider did not rediscover the good feeling he had in the other sessions. Starting from the third row, he also had to deal with the failure to disengage the lowering system at the start which relegated him to last place. In his recovery attempt, Vinales also ran into two exits beyond the track limit which forced him to serve a long-lap penalty. The goal for tomorrow is to find the good feelings again and end the weekend on a positive note.

Statements by Maverick Vinales Sprint Race GP Thailand MotoGP 2023

“I'm angry because in qualifying and in the Sprint we weren't able to maintain the level we had until this morning. In the race I went wide several times, the pace was missing and we need to understand what happened. Tomorrow a lot will depend on the feeling I can have."
