MotoGP | GP Mugello: Marc Marquez, “The most important race of the season will be next week”
"It was difficult to concentrate because I know that next week is very important for my career" added the eight-time world champion
Italian GP Mugello Repsol Honda Team – Marc Marquez finished the Italian Grand Prix, eighth stage of the 2022 MotoGP, in tenth position.
The Spanish rider, who started from the center of the group, tried to limit the damage and collect as much data as possible to improve the bike, but his body and mind are already focused on the surgery he will undergo this week to resolve the problems with his right ventricle.

“It was a tough race, as we expected. I gave everything in the first seven laps to see if I had the speed of the leaders and our pace wasn't bad but then I started to struggle physically. I kept calm, rode at a comfortable pace and worked to understand where we were losing compared to the other bikes. The goal was to provide constructive feedback to the team and we did that. Now we have the biggest 'race' of the season next week. It was hard to concentrate because I know next week is very important for my career, but I'm proud to have done this race. I can't wait to see everyone again soon."
