Both Aleix Espargaró and Scott Redding remained out of the second Q2 qualifying and tomorrow they will start from the sixth and seventh row respectively in the race on the Misano track, the thirteenth round of the MotoGP World Championship of the season.

The two placings are the result of the results obtained in the first qualifying round in which Aleix ranked sixth in 1'33.084 (just over six tenths from second place, the last valid for passage to the second session) therefore sixteenth in the general classification and Scott eleventh, twenty-first on the grid, in 1'33.572.

Here are the words of Aleix Espargarò: “If we look at the times I was faster than last year, but not enough because the improvement of the opponents was more evident, so I'm certainly not happy with today's result. We suffered in all the sessions and I don't have the solution to get out of these difficulties. The problem does not only manifest itself on the single lap but also concerns the pace: I find it very difficult to ride and this becomes demanding over the race distance. However, we will try to bring home the best possible result tomorrow."

Here are Scott Redding's impressions: “Today we weren't able to improve as much as we hoped. The cold that prevents me from breathing definitely doesn't help, especially in the afternoon the situation got significantly worse. We must carefully analyze the setup changes to select a package with the best possible features. It's difficult to make predictions for tomorrow, a lot will depend on the pace that the opponents keep."
