MotoGP | Gp Jerez Race: Vinales, “This podium is like a victory for me”[VIDEO]

MotoGP GP Spain Monster Yamaha – Maverick Vinales closed the Spanish Grand Prix, fourth stage of the 2019 MotoGP, in third position.

The Yamaha rider was one of the few to choose the medium tire on the front, and was therefore 'forced' to manage at the start of the race. This then allowed him to resist Andrea Dovizioso's attacks at the end of the race.

These are the words of Maverick Vinales: “Today I am very happy. This result means having more confidence for the next race. However, we must continue to improve the bike. I decided to save tires for the finale and I did well because the Ducatis arrived in the end. Keeping Dovi behind was difficult and I had to push. The bike reacted well, but we need to improve. I think we have improved a lot compared to last year. I have always struggled here, so this podium is like a victory for me. Now the feeling is good and tomorrow in the tests we can continue to try something new. I'm very happy with the braking, which up until now had been a problem. Traction is lacking compared to opponents. Quartararo was certainly very good, as was Franco. It was a strange race, because I knew from the start that it would be difficult to get to the end with the tyre, so I tried to manage. Tomorrow I hope there will be little grip in the tests in order to better prepare our weak points."
