MotoGP GP Spain KTM Factory – Thirteenth and fourteenth positions for Pol Espargarò and Johann Zarco in the Spanish Grand Prix, the fourth round of this 2019 MotoGP world championship.

After the good performances shown in the American rounds of Austin and Termas, the KTM team showed encouraging improvements in Jerez, approaching the pace of the top teams during today's race.

Encouraging signs, especially from the Spaniard's garage, which give hope for the next round of the championship to be held in Le Mans.

“I had a good race”, declared Pol Espargarò after thirteenth place under the checkered flag. “We struggled with grip at the start of the race, but despite this we got closer to Lorenzo, completing the overtaking. Unfortunately at the end of the race I misread the pin board and slowed down one lap before the end."

“It was one of the biggest mistakes of my career,” he added. “When I realized the mistake I started pushing again, but unfortunately I had already been overtaken by Lorenzo. It's disappointing because we lost a position and several seconds in the total race time. Today we had good speed and we will try to compare today's performance with what we will have at Le Mans."

Here are Johann Zarco's assessments: “It was a tough day. I wanted to overtake several drivers, but unfortunately I pushed to the limit for several laps, losing a lot in acceleration. It was complicated. I could have held on to Pol, but in the second part of the race I had to pick up the pace. I think Monday's test will give us some good information in terms of development. In any case we had an improvement over the weekend."
