Moto3 | Gp Jerez Race: Antonelli, “I'm enjoying the moment and I'm very happy”

It's impossible to hold back the emotion today, a sinking heart that takes us back to when Sic won its first career victory right on the Jerez circuit... Today, fifteen years later, another curly haired man climbed to the top step of the podium , with a 58 printed on the suit and engraved in the heart. Marco Simoncelli's dream did not end on that cursed October 23, 2011, it continues, in the determination, in the tenacity of two young drivers, and in the tears of father Paolo, who we all have in our hearts. Finally, the Sic58 Squadra Corse team achieved its first victory with Niccolò Antonelli, followed by his teammate, Tatsuki Suzuki. 

Niccolò Antonelli: “A wonderful race, a super hard-fought weekend, I think both Tatsu and I deserved it because we were very fast all weekend; then the team, Paolo, my family...very nice! These last four years have been very hard, luckily I have had people who have always believed in me, I have always believed in myself too and this has helped a lot to make me feel calm and get back to my levels. The world championship is still very long but I feel I can fight for the positions that count, I'm enjoying the moment and I'm very happy, it's wonderful to be back in first position. I think that in all teams you have to feel good to go fast, Paolo is very good at this, like the guys in the team."

Tatsuki Suzuki: “I tried to push straight away from the first lap because I knew that on this track, when the group forms, you struggle to overtake. In the last three laps, I made a mistake braking at turn 6, I came in a little long, Vietti, Canet and Kornfeil overtook me so I decided to give everything and on the last lap at nine, I entered Vietti like crazy. Luckily I didn't fall! I'm very happy because Marco won here for the first time, and here we did the double, so there is something...".
