After receiving the okay from the doctors and having done a test yesterday riding a CBR 600RR, confirmation has arrived: Marc Marquez will be able to return to racing as early as the Austin Grand Prix, scheduled for this weekend.

The eight-time world champion did not take part in the Indonesian and Argentine Grand Prix, following the violent high-side during the Warm Up on the Mandalika circuit, which resulted in a new episode of double vision.

Marquez is ready to return and will do so on one of his favorite tracks. In fact, on the Texas circuit he achieved seven victories in eight races held in the premier class.

Statements Marc Marquez return to the track Austin GP Americas

“Obviously I'm very happy to be back, it's a great feeling to be back and above all to do it on one of my favorite tracks. No matter the situation, I really enjoy driving in Texas and have incredible memories there. We have some work to do after missing two races and the entire Argentinian weekend, so I'm not here to set a goal at the moment. There are many things to do and consider, but the important thing is that we get back on the bike this weekend."
