Next year the contracts of the four big names in the world championship will expire, we are talking about Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo. The 2010 MotoGP world champion is one of Yamaha's priorities who would like to renew with the Majorcan as soon as possible. Lin Jarvis speaking to MCN assured that the Tre Diapason manufacturer will do everything to keep him and is banking on the competitiveness of the new 1000cc to convince him definitively.

“Keeping Jorge is the key and next year negotiations will open to secure the top riders, so having one of Jorge and Casey (Stoner, ed.) is very, very important. There is no reason to wait, so we might as well do it soon, I think Jorge is fine at Yamaha and I think an agreement can be found. A key factor will be our new 1000cc motorcycle; if it is competitive (and I am very confident of this) everything will be easier.”

Wisdom on Yamaha's part since Casey remains in Honda it is better to keep Jorge close as he is the only alternative, the second and only force in play to compete against HodaCasey.
It is clear that they have learned from the idiots at Honda when in the past they let Casey ducats slip away, it is right and wise to learn from the mistakes of others.

…in fact, in my opinion, all this fury about Dovizioso was very exaggerated.
Who today would bet on a world championship victory by Rossi/Ducati? And in any case, saying that even the best Rossi on the best bike would have struggled with a Stoner like that doesn't seem disparaging or offensive towards Valentino...

It must be said that if Lorenzo were to go to Honda, Pedrosa will certainly go to Yamaha, they wouldn't do the three bikes again with three such competitive riders, last season Dovizioso was a little inferior to the other two.
If Pedrosa doesn't break he has the talent to compete with the other two!
However, I believe that Jorge will remain in Yamaha for many more years!
