MotoGP: Andrea Dovizioso clarifies his words on Valentino RossiMotoGP: Andrea Dovizioso clarifies his words on Valentino Rossi

Andrea Dovizioso and Valentino Rossi were at the center of a controversy that arose due to a "misunderstanding" after the Forlì native had given his opinion on the strengths on the field with a view to 2012. The new Yamaha Tech3 Team rider, in Argentina for the presentation of the Grand Prix which will be part of the 2013 world championship, he spoke about how difficult it would be for Ducati to immediately become competitive again, also adding (and here his words would have been misrepresented) that today Rossi wouldn't win even riding a "Japanese" one. The nine-time world champion responded promptly, writing on his Twitter referring to Dovi: “When a rider wins something important, his true character comes out. The problem is that he didn't win."

Through SportMediaset, Dovizioso tried to explain how the events really happened: “The meaning of my words was completely distorted. Word of mouth on sites and media outlets transforms things. But in my opinion Valentino, who is an intelligent and expert person, knows and understands this very well. I returned from Argentina and they told me that I would have spoken with arrogance and presumption about him. It's false. I don't even dream of it, I know who Rossi is and I'm not stupid. Certain. I said that Ducati doesn't have an easy time ahead because it's difficult to completely turn a bike around and have it work well straight away. Especially when you compete with Honda and Yamaha who both start from very successful and successful bases. It seems reasonable to me. And I also said that even if Rossi were riding a Japanese bike perhaps he wouldn't be the dominator he was in the past because he competes against very strong opponents. Which absolutely doesn't mean that he is finished or that he can no longer win races or the world championship. Let's not joke."

Dovizioso spoke according to pure common sense, Ducati (team-pylon and rider-setting :-)) completely "botched" the 2011 season by placing themselves more than a second from the leading positions, and next year I don't think they will be able to recover it all of the above; that Rossi has lost the enthusiasm and hunger he had at the age of twenty seems completely natural and is something that there is nothing to be ashamed of, also considering the fact that now a real rocket pilot has climbed onto the Honda missile, and that Stoner's 2011 season is not easily repeatable in terms of numbers by anyone, Stoner included.

In fact, Rossi always laughed...now (lastly) the others laugh (Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa (and me a little too ahahahahahah :)))

Now Rossi is even hungrier after a season like 2011, if they give him a bike that's up to the task in direct confrontation he'll be the strongest even at 33 years old.

Pedrosa has very little, very very very little to laugh about!
He's been racing in MotoGP for a hundred years and hasn't even won his grandfather's cup yet: he was just good (along with that other idiot of his...friend, Puig) in calling for poor Sic to be removed from the MotoGP tracks. It's a shame that a truly cruel fate pleased him.

A rider must be judged by how he rides the bike they give him. Otherwise ALL riders can argue that they don't win because their bike isn't up to par.

I'm sorry that Dovizioso gets involved in these things but unfortunately for him he can't say 9 to 1 are too many even if he races until he's 40 he won't win them...

It's difficult to think that there are people out there who don't admit that 9 titles are won not by chance, I advise you to review Rossi's overtaking of Lorenzo at the last corner and if you've ever ridden a motorbike you would realize the incredible difficulty and what a choice. time needed for a maneuver like this. Talking without knowing in front of a PC is too easy.
