MotoGP – Estoril Free Practice – Marco Simoncelli: “Particularly strange day”

Marco Simoncelli perhaps expected more from the first day of free practice for the Portuguese GP but very variable weather conditions mixed things up a bit. The Team Gresini rider who finished eighth is still quite satisfied even if in the end he perhaps could have pushed harder. The word is up to him.

“It was a particularly strange day and luckily, despite the terrible weather conditions in the morning, we managed to do a more or less normal test session. I'm quite satisfied because I made good progression during the session and in the last laps if I had pushed more perhaps I could have improved my position. Now we need to understand what the weather conditions will be like for tomorrow but overall I'm quite confident. We need to improve the traction control and the front end but I have to say that I'm quite confident.”
