MotoGP Brno, Free Practice: Cal Crutchlow “I need to improve the bike in corners and the grip on the front”
The Briton finished in 6th place, just 3 tenths of a second from the top
Cal Crutchlow he ends the first day of free practice with the 6th fastest time, just 3 tenths behind Stefan Bradl. The Tech 3 rider climbed onto the podium for the first time here last year in MotoGP, in fact this is a track that he loves very much and where he also gained a lot of satisfaction in Superbike. Surely on Sunday he will be among the protagonists for the positions that count, although there are still a couple of things to fine-tune on his M1.
“This first day was not easy – Cal Crutchlow said – but the positive thing is that my pace is very consistent and the gaps between the top six are really small. My best lap isn't the best but I can lap 56 easily and that's encouraging. Of course we have to improve the bike, so I hope that tomorrow it won't rain so that we can make several changes that we need. I still can't turn as I want and I'm also having trouble with the grip on the front. Last year right here in Brno I got on the podium in MotoGP for the first time and it would be wonderful to repeat it on Sunday. It will be difficult but I want to give it my all to try"
