MotoGP | Barcelona, ​​QP: Espargarò, “Fifth position is fantastic”

On the second day of testing in Barcelona, ​​Aprilia confirmed the continuous growth in performance of the RS-GP. An extremely positive weekend so far culminating with today's qualifying, which saw Aleix Espargaró conquer the second row on the grid with the fifth best time. The Spanish driver had already highlighted himself in FP3, finishing in fourth place, and in FP4 where in race configuration he obtained sixth place. The Spanish rider's result is the best in qualifying for Aprilia since his return to MotoGP.

Here are the words of Aleix Espargarò: “I'm happy, especially with the feeling I have with the bike ahead of the race. Qualifying was very tight, I expected something more with the soft tire but in both fast laps I lost a few tenths in the first sector. In any case, fifth position is fantastic, it will certainly make our life easier in the race. I have a good pace, on this track with little grip anything could happen. I'm motivated and positive, I expect a good Sunday."

Here are Sam Lowes' impressions: “It's a shame, we really had a lot of problems today. It's unfortunate because yesterday was my best day in MotoGP, while today I wasn't able to lap in FP3 and in qualifying due to some technical problems. Right now I need to stay on the track as much as possible, I'm making progress and to be honest the situation is quite good as far as race pace is concerned."
