Alvaro Bautista ended the first day of free practice in Aragon, the fourteenth round of the 2012 world championship, with the tenth fastest time. In the morning the Honda rider did not lap like most of his colleagues, while in the afternoon when the rain became intense he took to the track with the rain shoes, he has the say.

“Another wet day! This morning we didn't go out on track because the conditions were so hybrid with the track half wet and half dry that any lap would have been useless and would have been of little use. In the afternoon, however, the intensity of the rain increased and with the track completely wet it was a positive ride. We had two settings to test and we did two outings. During the first outing I tried to pick up the pace while in the second outing I tried to gain confidence in the wet but we didn't find anything positive, in fact we lost confidence on the front. More rain is forecast tomorrow so we will focus on fine-tuning the suspension because I also lacked a bit of traction on the rear wheel.”
