MotoGP: Andrea Iannone, “I have never managed to be as fast as I would have liked”
The Mugello poleman encountered a few more difficulties than expected
Andrea Iannone MotoGP 2015 Ducati – Andrea Iannone expected a different start in Barcelona, scene of the seventh stage of the 2015 world championship. The Ducati rider in fact encountered a few more difficulties than expected and was not immediately able to find the right rhythm.
Andrea, tell us the difficulties encountered on this first day of testing.
“Today was a special day, it didn't go as I expected. We struggled more than expected to find the rhythm, especially this morning. I was never able to be as fast as I wanted. In the afternoon, using a different setting we greatly improved braking and corner entry. It's an important aspect, because braking is very decisive in the race.”
Your teammate Andrea Dovizioso complained about grip problems and potholes on the asphalt, are you in the same situation?
“I haven't spoken to him, but in general the track is very slippery. I can't turn as I would like, with confidence, because I don't have the usual feeling. We have a slightly different bike compared to our standard before Mugello and I don't know if this could create problems on this track. Tomorrow we will take a step back to see if things improve.”
You never mentioned your shoulder, was it the motorbike that made you forget the pain?
“I don't want to keep coming back to this topic, now I no longer have pain. I lack the strength, but the situation has definitely improved compared to Mugello.”
