GP Spain Jerez MotoGP 2024 Ducati – Enea Bastianini closed the first day of testing for the Spanish Grand Prix scheduled in Jerez with the eighth fastest time.

The #23 Ducati loses a lot in the third sector, a section of the track where it has always struggled in the past. Tonight he will look at the data and tomorrow he will try to improve.

From a tire point of view, the "Beast" ran a lot on medium tires trying to do some tests and in the end it didn't even go too badly.

Enea Bastianini Statements Day 1 GP Spain Jerez MotoGP 2024

“It didn't go as well as we would have hoped and the reason is the third sector. Tomorrow I have to try to make a step in this part of the track, even if it's a point where I've also suffered in the past, so there's definitely something I'm doing wrong. On the rest of the track I feel quite good, I'm happy. I lapped a lot on medium tires trying to do some tests and in the end it wasn't even that bad. The soft tire is certainly better: I didn't ride on it much but I saw the pace of the other riders and they went fast. It will certainly be the right tire for the sprint, while I'm not sure if the same is true for the long race. Tomorrow FP2 will be fundamental to improve both in view of qualifying and for the races
