MotoGP Italian GP Mugello Free Practice 1 – Takaaki Nakagami achieved the best time in the first free practice session of the Italian Grand Prix, eighth stage of the 2022 MotoGP, scheduled for Sunday on the splendid Mugello track.

The Team LCR rider brought his Honda RC213V ahead of everyone with a time of 1:46.662, a time almost half a second better than that achieved by Aleix Espargarò, who, fresh from his contract renewal with Aprilia, in turn preceded Pecco Bagnaia, who on the Ducati set the same time as the Spaniard, 1:47.070.

Fourth time for Alex Rins, who on the Suzuki preceded the Le Mans winner Enea Bastianini (Ducati Gresini) and Maverick Vinales (Aprilia).

Closing out the Top Ten are Jack Miller (Ducati), Pol Espargarò (Honda), Johann Zarco (Ducati Pramac) and Luca Marini (Ducati Mooney VR46 Racing Team).

The leader of the championship standings Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) is 11th, ahead of the wild card Ducati Aruba, Michele Pirro, Alex Marquez (Honda LCR) and the best rookie, our Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati Mooney VR46 Racing Team).

Marc Marquez was only 19th, riding the official Honda RC213V, 1.213s off the top.

The difficult moment for Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha Factory) and Andrea Dovizioso (Yamaha WithU RNF) continues, who finished in 16th and 21st position respectively. Lorenzo Savadori, Aprilia tester, on track with an evolution of the RS-GP, is 22nd.

Rookie FP1 MotoGP Italian GP Mugello

The best rookie was Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) 14th fastest, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Gresini) 23rd, Darryn Binder (Yamaha WithU RNF) 24th, Raul Fernandez (Team Tech 3) 25th, and Remy Gardner (Team Tech 3) 26th.
