MotoGP British GP Silverstone Ducati 2021 – Francesco Bagnaia achieved the sixth fastest time on the first day of free practice for the British Grand Prix, twelfth stage of the 2021 MotoGP.

“Today's results should be taken with a pinch of salt, because this afternoon it was really cold. Marquez seems to be the one in the best position, but today it was important to work on the durability of the rear tyre. Tomorrow we will see the results of the work done today. Compared to the others, our bike needs more time to be set up, but tomorrow we will be there too. In 2019 I struggled a lot, I didn't have the official bike at the time and it was nice to see that today our bike made a huge step in terms of setting and chassis. I'm happy with the work we did on this first day. In FP1 I had suffered a bit from the lack of grip, but in the afternoon we managed to improve a lot, taking an important step forward with the bike. This afternoon it was particularly cold and this made it difficult to carry out a time attack, so I preferred not to take too many risks. In any case we are sixth and this is a sign that we are doing an excellent job. Quartararo and Márquez were faster today, but I'm not worried: I'm convinced that tomorrow we too will be able to take another big step forward."
