MotoGP | Qatar GP FP3: the heat doesn't allow improvements, Morbidelli the fastest
The Italian-Brazilian driver preceded Aleix Espargarò and Luca Marini
MotoGP GP Qatar Free Practice 3 – The third free practice session of the Qatar Grand Prix did not change the Day 1 ranking as expected.
In fact, the great heat prevented the riders from improving and in the end the ten who will directly access Q2 are the top ten of FP2, namely: Miller, Bagnaia, Quartararo, Zarco, Rins, Vinales, Morbidelli, Aleix Espargarò, Rossi and Pol Espargarò.
The fastest in this session was Franco Morbidelli, who was also the best in the morning session yesterday.
The Italian-Brazilian rider of Team Yamaha Petronas lapped in 1:54.676 and preceded the Aprilia of Aleix Espargarò (for him also a crash without consequences at the end of the session, ed.) and the excellent Luca Marini, rookie of Team Ducati Sky VR46 Avintia.
Alex Rins with Suzuki set the fourth time ahead of Fabio Quartararo's Yamaha and team-mate Joan Mir, the latter reigning champion.
Closing out the Top Ten are Takaaki Nakagami with the Honda of Team LCR, Maverick Vinales with the second Yamaha Factory, Stefan Bradl with the Honda Repsol and Miguel Oliveira with the KTM Factory.
Good eleventh time for Danilo Petrucci, who on the KTM of Team Tech 3 is 0.690s from the top, a nice leap forward for "Petrux."
Enea Bastianini (Rookie Ducati Avintia) is 14th, ahead of Jack Miller, who crashed without consequences at the start of the session, Valentino Rossi and Pol Espargarò. Francesco Bagnaia and Johann Zarco did not want to take risks, finishing 21st and 22nd.
At 18 pm the first pole position of the season is up for grabs, which you can follow live from our website.
