MotoGP GP Malaysia Sepang Honda Repsol Qualifying – Johann Zarco ended qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix, the penultimate stage of the 2019 MotoGP, in ninth position.

The Frenchman from the LCR team, after having guaranteed direct access to Q2 thanks to the time recorded in FP3, also managed to amaze in qualifying by stopping just 8 tenths from pole.

“I'm quite happy with the day, I wanted this performance to go straight to Q2 and stay with the best and improve the lap time. I did it, it wasn't easy, sometimes I tried and I wasn't able to go as fast as I wanted. But the last lap was quite interesting, following Valentino (Rossi) was a good reference and I tried to catch him. I lost a bit of time in the last corner and lost maybe a tenth or two, maybe I could have done even better, but ninth position is quite good at the moment.”
